＂Star Creek＂ was shortlisted for director China’s competition for ＂future lion＂ on Venice Day.

The 75th Venice International Film Festival was held in Lido Island, Venice from August 29th to September 8th, 2018. The first feature film directed by China young director Sissi Deng has been shortlisted for Venice Day, and will have its world premiere on September 6th. This film will compete with all the first films in this film festival for the "Lion of the Future" (best feature film debut) award.

The film was shot from the small town of Yaleshta in northern Malaysia. It uses a neat three-stage narrative method and tells a story of three different and wonderful journeys caused by the tiny difference in the operation of the universe with the same heroine and time scenery as the background. Eric rohmer, a famous French director, is Sissi Deng’s movie idol, and his masterpieces, movies, etc. are Sissi Deng’s favorite movies. In his first feature film, Three Adventures in Xingxi, Sissi Deng consciously inherited Hou Mai’s artistic pursuit of "lightness, romance, restraint and bearing fate, philosophy and weight", and also incorporated Chinese’s aesthetic concept and visual style, which was a very creative attempt. The film begins with a mural of the port of Yaroslav, combining natural scenery with the theme of "adventure", leaving the first egg for the whole film.

　

Pascal Gregory, the star of the film, is a national treasure actor in France. He once starred in the film "Photo of Passion" with Sophie Marceau and co-starred in the film with marion cotillard, and was an important participant in the French New Wave Movement. He has cooperated with director eric rohmer for a long time, presenting excellent films such as,, and so on. In "Three Adventures in the Star Creek", the hero followed the name of the role "Pierre" played by Pascal Gregory in "Lotus on the Beach", which is not only a tribute to idols, but also a continuous exploration and reflection on literary films. "Three Adventures in Star Creek" is a China-Malaysian co-production, as well as a feature film debut by young director Sissi Deng. Sissi Deng graduated from the Department of Film Directors in Beijing. Her graduation work "Humanoid Container" with strong personal style has been selected for more than ten film festivals at home and abroad, such as Cologne-Dortmund International Women’s Film Festival, Macau International Film Festival, Seoul International Women’s Film Festival and Beijing International Film Festival. The behind-the-scenes team of Star Creek is very "academic". The screenwriter and director Mei Feng as artistic director, Zhu Jinjing and production designer Wang Zhi as photography directors and senior producer Ji Wei all come from Beijing Film Academy. The film broke through the barriers in the choice of actors, with the leading actors from China, Malaysia, French and other countries.
