Since March, Yu Kaiming has been paying close attention to the enrollment information on the website of HKUST for fear of missing the registration time for the summer camp. After three years of hard work, he finally got the opportunity to participate in the interdisciplinary summer camp as the first in his class. He said that there is no anxiety or exaggeration on the campus of HKUST, but only an atmosphere of quiet, calm, down-to-earth and quiet research. University of Science and Technology has always been his dream, and now he is one step closer to his dream.

In order to let the students get acquainted as soon as possible, the interdisciplinary summer camp specially arranged a fraternity for everyone. Various programs written and directed by students took turns to appear. "I show myself" and "You show me and I guess" made the students laugh, and the "Transfer from Space" magic performed by students from Tianjin University made the playing cards on the female host transfer to the male host in full view, which made the atmosphere of the whole fraternity reach its climax. At the closing ceremony of the summer camp on July 12th, magician Tian Lang Zehuan specially presented the "only and last" finale performance for the summer camp of China University of Science and Technology: under the watchful eyes of more than 1,000 people at the scene, the words "Meet with the University of Science and Technology and set sail with dreams" instantly changed to playing cards.

　

　

Tian Lang Zehuan brought "the moment to witness the miracle" to all the audience, and China University of Science and Technology also let him witness the miracle at the last minute. Due to the limited number of people admitted, Tian Lang Zehuan was not confirmed to be admitted at first. It was not until the last moment before the opening of the camp that he got the admission notice. With excitement, he resolutely set foot on the south train to participate in the interdisciplinary summer camp. At the closing ceremony, in front of all the audience, Tian Lang Zehuan said with deep affection, "I am very grateful to HKUST for giving me this opportunity to experience the life of HKUST at close range. The reports of famous teachers will open my eyes. I will definitely return to HKUST next year."

The lecture in the next three days will be an eye-opener for the students. During the three days, they will learn not only professional knowledge, but also a professional attitude of devoting themselves to scientific research. "Hundred people" and "thousand people" took turns to go into battle, and each tutor racked his brains to attract talents. Researcher Gao Chen said: "I have sufficient research resources, so students can come boldly." Researcher Wu Ziyu said: "My research team covers all directions, including biomedicine, low-dimensional materials, physics, chemistry, biology and other majors, and can find a place." Professor Li Liangbin was surrounded by his classmates after making his report, so he had to say to them, "Listen to the next report first, I’ll wait for you in the office at dinner time, and you can come to me at any time."

　

　

The National Synchrotron Radiation Laboratory is the first national laboratory built in China, and the only scientific apparatus built in colleges and universities. As a scientific apparatus platform, physics, chemistry and biology are involved in all directions. Because of this, this summer camp is named interdisciplinary summer camp, which can make students from different disciplines collide with each other in their thoughts and minds.

In order to get students in close contact with their tutors, this summer camp also specially arranged activities such as "face-to-face with tutors" and dinners between teachers and students. The rare cows gathered together to answer students’ questions about their study and scientific research direction, and encouraged students to take interdisciplinary and interdisciplinary examinations and explore their new directions.
